The U.S. International Trade Commission received six new petitions to investigate trade policy infractions in January, including three antidumping cases – the most since April 2018. The three antidumping investigation requests all focused on China, suggesting petitioners had been waiting for clarity on the phase 1 trade deal between the U.S. and China before acting.
