The U.S. Supreme Court will hear its first weapons-ownership case for nine years in October. That may lead to an increase in sales. Background checks for weapons purchases by the FBI have begun to recover with a 3.2% year over year rise to reach 26.2 million applications in 2018. Importers including Beretta, CBC Global and Fiocchi may be taking a conservative approach with imports of weapons and parts up by just 1.5% year over year in 4Q while ammunition shipments rose by just 0.6%.
