Port activity in the U.K. is suffering widening disruptions as a result of IT implementation failures at Felixstowe, owned by Hutchison Ports. That’s led to other ports being overloaded and container lines to divert vessels – most recently by both the Ocean and THE alliances – or update service schedules more broadly. That comes as U.K. port handling declined for a sixth straight quarter in 2Q 2018 with a 2% drop on a year earlier.
