European business managers remain upbeat about the outlook for export orders. In France the INSEE survey maintained its highest reading since June 2011 for a third straight month in August. That followed a fifth month of export growth in June. Meanwhile, exuberance returned in the U.K., with the CBI survey show a net 11% of managers seeing orders above normal. That likely reflects the 6% drop in the pound on a trade weighted basis since May – making British exports cheaper – while the disruption from Brexit remains in the distance.
