Seattle-Tacoma airport handled 22% more airfreight on a year earlier in February, the seventh straight month of growth after Deutsche Post DHL moved a hub there. International traffic progressed more slowly, but still far outstripped handling at the seaports. Imports into Seattle fell 24% to the lowest in nearly 10 years, while Tacoma’s fell 14%. As a consequence the Panjiva Combined Cargo Index for the northwest region dropped 6% on a year earlier, the first decline after four straight months of growth.
