Slow Flying Miami Can’t Stop Regional Cargo Index Hitting Five Year High

Airfreight handled by Miami-Dade airport inched ahead by 1% in August on a year earlier, despite international exports falling for a 19th month. International imports were more successful, rising 2% – a slower rate than before. Across the southeast region seaborne imports bested airfreight, with a 14% jump overall led by Port Everglades. As a result the Panjiva Combined Cargo Index for the region increased 8% to its highest level in five years.
