The WTO has supported South Korean claims in a case against U.S. duties on washing machines applied in 2013. Panjiva data shows that the growth in Chinese machines, which are also now subject to a case by the U.S. Commerce Department, can be linked to those duties. China exported 7.35 million washers to the U.S. in the 12 months to July 2016 – in August 2012 it was 113,000.
