President Trump has reimposed 10% duties on imports of unwrought aluminum from Canada under the section 232 “national security” program. That follows a 77.3% surge in shipments in the 12 months to June 30 following the removal of the original section 232 duties which formed part of the run-up to the signing of the USMCA trade deal.
