Trump Racing? China Phone Exports to U.S. Jumped 40% in November

China’s mobile phone exports fell 3% on a year earlier in November to $14 billion. There was significant geographic diversity though. Shipments to the U.S. increased 40%, and those to Japan by 27%, suggesting significant retailer optimism ahead of the holiday gift sales season. Alternatively shippers are trying to beat tariffs from the incoming Trump administration. Apple suppliers Foxconn and Pegatron saw their global shipments in the three months to November 30 climb 12% and 9% respectively.
