International air cargo handled by LA International and Oakland airports increased 5% in December, representing the ninth straight month of growth. Within this international imports climbed 12%. This echoes the pattern seen in international seafreight imports, which climbed 10% as a result of higher shipments from China into Los Angeles. When added together the Panjiva Combined Cargo Index for California climbed 7% in December to 121 points, equivalent to 2% growth for 2016 overall compared to 2015.
