CMA-CGM, COSCO Win the Battle for Charleston as 2M Loses Ground

Container handling by the South Carolina Port Authority, focused on Charleston, rose 11% in December. That resulted in a 2017 total of 2.18 million TEUs, a new record. As has been common recently, and across the U.S., import volume growth of 14% outstripped an 11% rise in exports. The import expansion was well ahead of the 5% national average, the result of an increased share of volumes from China.
