Shipping transits via the Panama Canal climbed 7% on a year earlier in June, driven in part by a reduction in maintenance on a year earlier that account for around 9% of capacity. Shipments by all vessel classes improved, including a 28% rise in neopanamax shipments resulting from increased slot allocations as Panama continued to compete with the Suez Canal.
