The Ottawa Group of the EU and 12 countries has called on governments globally to “withdraw or end any trade restrictive measures introduced in response to COVID-19 as quickly as possible”. The avoidance of a new round of medical protectionism is vital as vaccines against SARS-COV-2 are rolled out, though unless the U.S. and China join the pledge there’s unlikely to be much impact.
