The container-lines operating U.S.-inbound routes saw a modest growth rate of 3.1% year over year in May. Evergreen Marine led the pack with a 25.3% surge, while Maersk was a distant second with a 6.5% expansion. The worst decline was seen by COSCO Shipping with a 9.0% drop and Yang Ming which slid 6.7%. A large part of Evergreen’s improvement was down to realignments of routes within the Ocean Alliance of shipping services it offers alongside COSCO and CMA-CGM.
