U.S. employment grew more slowly-than-expected in March, while the logistics industry once again outpaced the average with a 2.9% rise in payrolls on a year earlier vs. 1.5% for the economy at large. Employment in the air transport sector climbed 2.7%, the slowest since July and despite a 7% rise in cargo volumes handled by North American airlines. Waterborne employment meanwhile was unchanged despite a 6% rise in container volumes through the big nine ports. Trucking was the most improved sector though with the fastest rate of growth since September 2015.
