Maersk Line’s new TP1 service will provide 4,000 TEU of capacity on China and South Korea to U.S. routes that face disruption from Hanjin’s failure. MSC has made a similar move. Panjiva data shows Maersk had a 6.6% share of shipments on the route in August, with the new capacity potentially adding nearly 60% to its potential volumes on the route in TEU based on August data.
