Trade officials from the U.S. and Canada are scheduled to meet this week, according to Bloomberg BNA, to try and find a solution to the Softwood Lumber Agreement. Without a deal, trade barriers may be erected by the U.S. in mid-October. Panjiva data shows that while Canadian exports of the products involved to the U.S. fell 6% in August vs. a year earlier, market share expanded to 75% from 67%.
