Container handling at the port of Savannah and surrounding area dropped 8.5% year over year in February, snapping a 27 month streak of growth. The decline was led by a 12.8% slump in exports while imports also fell 5.8%. All the major container-lines saw a decline in performance. Hapag-Lloyd did worst with a 22.0% drop in containerized freight imports while Ocean Network Express saw a decline of just 1.2%.
