Taiwan’s Rebar Bar Won’t Make Much Difference to U.S. Industry

The U.S. has made final determinations that Taiwanese exports of steel rebar were dumped at prices that were as much as 32% below cost, and will apply duties. The deal is unremarkable in being a “regular” steel case, but does come just ahead of the conclusions of the national security review of the industry more broadly. A similar case applying to Turkey has been appealed at the WTO. Panjiva data shows the decision will make little difference to the industry.
