Turkish Steelmakers Have No Fear of U.S. Rebar Duties

The U.S. Commerce Department set final duty rates on exports of steel rebar from Japan and Turkey. Rates of up to 209% will be applied to Japanese shipments, and 24% to those from Turkey if U.S. firms are found to have been injured. That decision won’t be made until June 29. Turkish producers either do not expect duties to be applied, or have lower costs than estimated.
