U.S. Loses Patience With Diet of Foreign Staple Fibers

The U.S. ITC has received a petition to investigate exports of polyester staple fiber from five countries including China. This is an unusual case in that most of the 44 investigations currently underway are focussed on metals and engineered products. Panjiva data shows average import values fell 9% in the 12 months to March 31 on a year earlier, which likely triggered the move by the petitioners including DAK and Auriga.
