Volkswagen shipping goes green as activity remains below pre-pandemic levels

Volkswagen has ordered four new liquefied natural gas fuelled car carrying ships for delivery by the end of 2023 as it looks to reduce its carbon emissions. The firm has a significant exposure to the EU’s inclusion of shipping in the Emissions Trading Scheme. Shipments from Germany accounted for 54.7% of U.S. seaborne imports linked in the 12 months to June 30.
