Yildirim’s Investment May Bring CMA-CGM, Make Gulfport Less Banana Exposed

Yildirim Holding, 24% owned of container-line CMA-CGM, has signed a letter of intent to invest in facilities at the Port of Gulfport, Mississippi. That cements Yildirim’s commitment to logistics after it backed away from selling CMA-CGM last year. Inbound container handling at Gulfport rose 27% in 2017 on a year earlier as disruptions from port renovations neared (but are not yet at) completion, but have fallen 5% in the first quarter of 2018.
