Commerce Declares Victory as Half of Biodiesel Case Completed

The U.S. Commerce Department has determined that biodiesel exports from Argentina and Indonesia were subsidised, and will retroactively apply duties. The other half of the case, on dumping accusations, has been postponed to October. Panjiva data shows Argentine suppliers had not been cowed by the case, with shipments in the second quarter 43% higher than a year earlier while Indonesians exited the market. Average costs have risen however, with import values in the second quarter being 15% higher than their February trough.
