The U.S. ITC will continue investigations of fine denier polyester staple fiber imports from four countries including China. Vietnam was dropped from the initial investigation. Panjiva data shows exports from Vietnam fell 78% in the quarter to May 31. Total imports fell 18%, with Taiwanese and Chinese shippers also cutting shipments. India and South Korea increased 61% and 34% respectively. However, most notable was a 344% increase in imports from Mexico, which had fallen in prior quarters. That may indicate an early change in supply chain strategies.
