South Korean exports fell 3% in October, with the government pointing to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 problems and a strike at Hyundai Motor as the problems. Of more concern to world trade is the decline in imports, which at 5% were worse than expected. China’s exports to South Korea had already started to slide in August, which may bode ill for electronic components makers, and may be a reason why Chinese managers are becoming more pessimistic about their exports.
