The U.S. has determined that five countries, including South Korea and the U.K., have been dumping cold-rolled steel into the U.S. – an echo of a case from June against China. This has not prevented imports growing. Panjiva data shows imports from the five countries being investigated averaged $30 million per month in 1H, and continued to grow until a small reversal in August. U.S. steelmakers may need to look for more cases – total U.S. imports grew at least 6.1% in the three months to August 30 vs. a year earlier.
