• In two new reports this week, we look at the widening rivalry between the US and mainland China. New US semiconductor export rules widen the range of graphics processors that cannot be shipped to mainland China, which accounts for over a quarter of global revenue for chipmakers. Mainland China’s new graphite export regulations cover about 39% of its total graphite exports and can be very specifically targeted, while falling prices have hurt alternative supplies.
